Developed in Adaptive Vision software, Ardent Automation's application allows scanning of shapes for dimensional measurement using a Gocator ring mounted system, which generates a 360-degree point cloud and may include intensity image acquisition as well for defect detection using traditional machine vision tools. The system uses 4x LMI Gocator sensors with encoder feedback for triggering alongside Aurora Vision Studio for data processing, as it can handle the Raw Mode 3D point cloud from the Gocator as well as the intensity image collected with the scans. This combination of data allows for coordination of measurements between the two data types.
As shown by numerous studies, security checks are one of the most stressful points of airport travel. Consequently, after successfully passing the control, people tend to forget their belongings in security trays. When they realize that they lost something it is simply too late and there is nothing else to do except contacting the Lost & found office. Engineers from the Institute of Production Engineering and Photonic Technologies at Vienna University of Technology showcased how Deep Learning tools can make our lives easier.
Automotive industry is one of the main recipents of moderm machine vision solutions. Engineers at MV Center Systemy Wizyjne Sp. z o.o. used the 3D technology and Adaptive Vision software to create a complex application performing control of many small and shiny elements in the housing of a control element used in the automotive industry. The described project included: selecting the equipment, designing the control system, creating inspection software and integrating the complete solutin with the existing machine.
Even complex 3D geometry inspections might be performed automatically resulting in reduced number of complaints and increasing the certainty of inspections by eliminating the mechanical gauges often used in the geometry inspection process.
The engineers at MV Center Systemy Wizyjne Sp. z o.o. have designed and delivered an inspection stand for automatic control of the EGR pipe geometry using Aurora Vision Studio 3D capabilities.
Reliable vision system for inspecing dimensions of the manufactured part is a crucial element of every modern manufacturing process. Engineers from I2 VISION Industrial Intelligence have used Aurora Vision Studio to prepare an inspection of roundness and dimensions of the inner diameter of tempered steel rings. Depending on the different user access levels, the application also generates and stores datasets for new rings and allows for dataset selection and loading.
The engineers at AmiSter sp. z o.o. sp.k. have developed a robotic control station performing quality control of heat pumps copper pipe system. Based on Adaptive Vision software and a multi-camera vision system, this control station performs a complex inspection, including copper pipes location as well as inspection of gas tightness at the points of soldered connections.
PCB boards can be found in virtually every electronic device on the market. With the help of Adaptive Vision software, engineers from Otes Elektronik designed a laser marking machine for PCB assembly lines which eliminates the need to use paper labels. With the limited size of the target area on some PCBs the laser marking process requires very high precision so that the marking is positioned exactly at the required place.
Using Aurora Vision Studio 5.0 powerful 2D, 3D, communication & HMI design capabilities, the engineers at MV Center Systemy Wizyjne Sp. z o.o. have designed and delivered a complex inspection system performing assembly check of a plastic element with a gasket at two assembly stands within one workstation. The scope of the project included selection of the equipment, development of vision application as well as integration of the complete vision system with the production line.
Automated guided vehicles (AGV), as well as manufacturing execution systems (MES), are becoming an integral part of smart factories as they address today's requirements of manufacturers and their suppliers of logistic equipment. Engineers from the Institute of Production Engineering and Photonic Technologies (IFT) showcased how Aurora Vision Studio helps the fourth industrial revolution become a reality.
